Planning a staycation for your pup at The Fur Seasons? Just like you might pack a few home comforts for yourself, your furry friend will benefit from a few familiar items to make their stay even more enjoyable. Here’s our guide to what to bring to ensure your dog feels right at home while having a tail-wagging good time.

Bring Something That Smells Like Home

Comfort is key for dogs, especially when they’re in a new environment. We recommend bringing something that smells familiar, like their bedding, a favorite blanket, or even a t-shirt from mom or dad. These familiar scents help soothe nerves and make settling in much easier. The Fur Seasons has plenty of bedding and blankets, but there is no smell like home.

Toys and Entertainment

Depending on your pup’s stay, their playtime will differ:

  • Residential Hall: Dogs staying here have private rooms and won’t have all-day access to other pups. This is a great time to pack toys and things that will keep them occupied. Chew toys, puzzle toys, or a favorite ball can help them stay engaged and happy.

  • Themed Suites & Presidential Suite: These pups enjoy full daycare access, so they’ll be busy socializing and playing in groups throughout the day. Toys may be less necessary, but if your dog has nighttime anxiety, a chew toy for bedtime is always appreciated.

  • Solo Dogs: Dogs who are non-neutered males or pups who don’t get along with others will stay as solo dogs. Bringing their favorite fetch ball or tug rope allows our staff to help them burn energy safely while keeping them entertained.

We also offer a variety of enrichment options and treats that can keep pups busy, including treat brain teasers, Kongs with peanut butter, bacon & cheese, or pepperoni fillers, puppaccinos, and peanut butter-covered mats.

Keep Their Diet Consistent

Bringing your dog’s usual food is highly recommended. A sudden change in diet can upset their stomach. While we do have emergency food on hand, nothing beats the comfort of their regular meals. We even have a large refrigerator just for our guests’ refrigerated food.

Upgrades for a Tail Wagging Stay

Make your pup’s staycation extra special with one of our upgrades:

  • Vacation Stay: Includes a daily rotating gourmet treat (homemade) and a bath after their stay, no matter the length of stay.

  • Premium Club Stay: Includes a daily rotating gourmet treat (homemade), one daily enrichment activity, and a bath regardless of stay length.

With these additions, your pup’s stay is sure to be full of fun, stimulation, and comfort.

Packing the right items ensures your furry friend feels secure, loved, and entertained while enjoying their staycation at The Fur Seasons. From comfort items to toys, treats, and their usual food, a little preparation goes a long way in making their vacation memorable—without the stress.
